Shakespeare Travel Rod

Shakespeare Telescopic TravelMate Rod & Reel

A great little rod & reel for experts, fishing fans, beginners, Dad and the kids. It’s one of the best value combo’s rod and reel sets around. You can expect a good quality rod and reel for this price. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced, compact setup this will do the trick every time. The kits come with both a rod and reel and a plastic travel case as a handy storage place.

I own two of these Shakespeare Travel Mate rod and reel combos and I love them. It’s a great little package for Trout fishing. They’re easy to use and the wife and kids always want to have a fish with them when we’re on holiday. They’re great multi-purpose rods, ideally suited for trout fishing and other small to medium size fish.

Perfect for backpacking, popping in your suitcase or under the seat in the car. I’ve used mine for kayak and canoe fishing. I also love sneaking around lake edges where I can collapse the rod down to scramble through undergrowth or along steep banks without getting tangled up or risking snapping the tip off – always a problem with a conventional rod.

For only $29.97 for both the rod and reel its a bargain really. You can buy them with confidence here and check out what other customers thought. A lot of people buy these rod & reel kits and I’ve only ever had good feedback.

I bought one of these rods and I have to say I’m impressed. For such a reasonable priced rod and reel its actually pretty darn good. Thanks for putting me onto these, I’m going out on the lake this weekend to try it out. Paul A.

Interesting reviews on telescoping rods. I’d like to hear your comments on the pros and cons of telescoping rods v. multi-piece rods for trout, bass and other fresh water fish?

    Thanks in advance,

    Rex

I had one of these rods will I was flying a small floatplane in Ontario. It was really handy to fold up and throw in the float compartment and forget about. I caught several good size pike and some pickerel with it and never had any problems.
